There are many ways to classify the qualities of a car, but of all of them, the speed is on the top of the list. And the fastest cars in the world 2020 is what we are going to talk about next.
The cars listed below are the fastest cars in the world 2020. The emphasis is on the word “production”: racing cars and custom models – and therefore unique ones – do not qualify.
No more talk: the top 5 fastest production cars in the world right now (fastest cars in the world 2020):
5 – Hennessey Venom GT (270 mph – 434 km / h)
Combine a Lotus Elise chassis and a V8 engine with 1,244-hp 7.0-liter twin-turbocharged, and you will have one of the Fastest Cars In The World 2020
Hennessey last year recorded a speed of 270.4 mph (434 km / h) at the Kennedy Space Center, but only in one direction. The route is usually made in two directions, the average is recorded, and the wind conditions are taken into account.
4 – Koenigsegg Agera RS (278 mph – 447.39 km / h)
In terms of specification sheets, the Venom F5 from Hennessey is impressive. It claimed a maximum speed of 301 mph that leaves several cars behind by a very significant margin, although Hennessey has not verified their numbers with the Guinness Book of World Records. Koenigsegg has done its tasks before witnesses, and although on this list it obtains the silver medal, in the “official” Agera RS is the true king of speed.
3 – SSC TUATARA (300 MPH – 482.8 KM / h)
Shelby SuperCars (SSC) has nothing to do with Carroll Shelby of Cobra, but it did obtain – briefly – the rights of boastfulness of maximum speed with its Ultimate Aero, which reached a maximum of 256 mph (412 km / h) in 2007. The successor to the Ultimate Aero has been designing for some time, and SSC is finally ready to show it to the world.
With the Tuatara, SSC aims at 300 mph. To achieve this, the new supercar uses a supercharged V8 of 5.9 liters of its own design. The monstrous engine produces about 1,750 horsepower using E85 ethanol, or 1,350 horsepower with 91 octane gasoline. That power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. The Tuatara weighs 2,750 pounds (almost 1,250 kg).
2- Hennessey Venom F5 (301 mph – 484.4 km / h)
In terms of maximum speed, Hennessey Performance is going above the competition. The Vennes GT of Hennessey, which registered its monumental mark – but unofficial – of 270 mph in 2014, was at the top of this list for a good time. And now, three years later, Hennessey again defies the laws of physics.
All this has to be officially confirmed. Still, we are going to grant them the benefit of the doubt, especially since we are very excited about the possibility that a “production” car reaches these figures. With a maximum (assumed) speed of 301 mph, the Venom F5 breaks the previous maximum speed figure by more than 30 miles. To achieve this, Hennessey worked on a new 2,950-pound carbon fiber chassis (the Venom GT is based on the Lotus Exige), a 7.4-liter V8 engine with double turbochargers and 1,600 horsepower. The results are absolutely amazing, since the model can go from 0 – 249 – 0 mph in less than 30 seconds in total.
1- Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ (304 mph – 489.24 km / h)
Ther Fastest Car In The World 2019 is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+. British driver Andy Wallace reached 304 mph (489.24 km / h) at the wheel of this limited edition model last August 2019, becoming the first person to cross the 300 mph threshold in a production car. Many of Bugatti’s rivals claim to have exceeded 300 mph several times.
The record car is an evolution of 1,600 horsepower from the regular Chiron. It could even exceed 304 mph, according to Wallace, but Bugatti announced that they would stop chasing speed records to focus on other projects.
